New RoRo line between Oxelösund and Helsinki has a positive impact on the environment
Due to the world economic situation and tough competition Bore has decided not to continue with Helox line between Helsinki and Oxelösund. We want to thank all our customers and partners who have supported us.
31st Januari 2011 a new RoRo line will start between Sweden and Finland. The line will be operated by the Finnish shipowner Bore Ltd and will be named HelOx Line between the harbours Helsinki Vuosaari and Oxelösund. In both Sweden and Finland, Lindholm Shipping is appointed agent for the line. The environment in both Stockholm and Helsinki will be improved thanks to less emissions and less trucks on the roads.
Between Sweden and Finland there are yearly som 3 Mton cargo on the vessels with both trailers and trucks. The position of Oxelösund harbor south of Stockholm is perfect to attract goods headed for Finland and also transito traffic. The line is aimed to give a positive environmental footprint as the forwarding agent saves some 100-200 km road traffic in Sweden compared to going through Stockholm or Kapellskär, as well as saving som 200 km in Finland compared to going through Turku. The sailing time between Oxelösund and Helsinki is estimated to 17 hours.
The HelOx Line will start with one vessel M/V Borden with a cargo capacity of some 1,400 lane meters. The frequency will start with three (3) times per week in both directions.
Lindholm Shipping will take care of sales and reservations for the line and has founded an office in Helsinki as well as having an office in Stockholm.
